I hope you a great Sunday. I did! I enjoyed being with each of you who were at LCC - HHI as we wrapped up our recent teaching series called "Speak God" - a study in The Lord's Prayer.
- The main theme of Sunday's teaching on protection, is that the proof of God's love for us is His faithfulness in temptation; the proof of our love for Him is our faithfulness in fleeing temptation.
- Fleeing temptation - easier said than done right? Well, check out Ephesians 6 this week to know how to put on the full armor of God to help you flee temptation. Be prepared for the spiritual battle!
- Speaking of a battle....one of my greatest areas of temptations comes in the area of finances. Anyone else out there with me? I'm totally stoked about our emphasis this coming Fall on Revolu$ion. Revolu$ion will combine a Sunday morning teaching series on finances with Financial Peace University with Dave Ramsey.
- I learned so much personally from the 13 week FPU class we offered at the HHI campus this past Spring. It has totally chanced the way I think about money, spending and giving. Please check out www.mylamebankaccount.com for more information on this Fall's Financial Peace Classes. We will be offering two weekly class times to choose from (either Monday or Thursday, both from 6 - 8 PM) beginning the week of August 16th.
- Our mission's team arrived Saturday night from Belize. Thanks for praying. I've head it was a great trip!
- On Sunday we prayed for one of our missionaries, Dan LaGue who had been battling cancer for nearly a decade. Yesterday, Dan passed away. Keep the LaGue family in your prayers this week as they plan to celebrate and remember his life. Check out Pastor Jeff's blog for more information about the great life of Dan LaGue.
