Here are some very specific needs that I want to share with you as we continue to develop this idea of investment at LCC:

1. THE CLOTHING CONNECTION - you guys did an AMAZING job bringing in clothes for this outreach. I want to see us do a Hilton Head Island Clothing Connection next year in 2010! I would like to meet several of you at the Bluffton Campus THIS SATURDAY AT 10AM so we can watch and learn how to make this event happen at our Campus next year. CONTACT ME  this week at 843-384-3514 and let me know if you would like to serve on this leadership team for next year's clothing connection and join me this Saturday in Bluffton.

2. WOODHAVEN CHRISTMAS PARTY - SATURDAY, DECEMBER 19th - 10 AM. We need volunteers to help with the set-up and the party itself. This would be a a great first-step if you have never jumped in to volunteer for a community event. CONTACT CYNTHIA at 843-290-2309 if you would like to help us with this event.

3. SERVE DAY SUNDAY - JANUARY 31st - we need team leaders to coordinate projects for our church-wide serve day. If there is a specific community need that you feel needs to be met, you can be a project leader! We can promote your project and help you with the coordination, so CONTACT ME if you want to be a project leader. We would like to see our Campus have 10 projects for SERVE DAY SUNDAY 2010.

4. TEAM LEADERS FOR AFTER-SCHOOL MENTORING & EASTER EGG HUNT 2010 - I have shared some great first steps for investment, and now I need some HUGE steps from some of you. I need 2 leaders or several co-leaders to take on the mantel of coordinating our efforts with our After School mentoring once a week at Woodhaven as well as someone to coordinate the efforts of our Annual Easter Egg Hunt in the Spring. These roles would require someone who is gifted in organization and enjoys people. The future success and development of BOTH of these community projects DEPENDS on someone taking on these roles. They will not be able to continue without others leading the way besides myself and a couple of investors. We will give you the tools and help you build your teams. CONTACT ME if you are interested.

SOUTH AFRICA MISSIONS TRIP DEPARTS FRIDAY
Please pray for our team as they leave for Cape Town this Friday.  They will be working with our mission's partners:  Living Hope,  Living Way & Living Grace Centre's.  The team will be conducting health screenings, life skills education and working with a lot of kids who live in Red Hill township.  God has really brought together some of LCC's best people to share in His work and you can be a part of it all by praying for them now and over the next couple of weeks.  To receive updates on the trip along the way and to become a regular prayer partner email Mark at mhoward@lowcountrycc.org

HEADS UP! WE ARE GOING MAD!
We will be receiving our semi-annual Make A Difference (MAD) missions offering on November 22.  Please pray about how God may want you to take part.  The MAD offering helps subsidize team member's costs for missions trips.

GOLD, FRANKINCENSE AND A WATER-BUFFALO
Pick up a Gospel for Asia (GFA) Christmas gift catalog and provide hope by gifting livestock, Bibles, blankets etc. to the "untouchable" Dalit's in India.  Last year a family received two chickens through GFA's efforts and were able to double their income for the year.  Read more about it at www.gfa.org/GIFT

"Surviving the Holidays" - Wednesday, November 18th, 7 p.m (BLUFFTON CAMPUS)

LCC's Divorce Care Ministries is hosting a one night session, Who should attend?  Anyone who is separated, divorced or suffering a recent loss will find comfort and help in navigating the emotional holiday season.  Refreshments provided.  Contact Clyde or Barb Long for more information at 705-6559 or cblong@hargray.com.

"An Evening in December" - Sunday, December 6th @ 6:00 pm & 8:00 pm

Join us for a relaxed evening and enjoy musical performances of your favorite Christmas songs, coffee and dessert. Tickets costs $10 per person or $80 for a table (8 people per table). A portion of your ticket price will be donated to our OneCommunity Ministry to provide Christmas to families at Woodhaven Apartments. LT ( Leadership Training) FOR THIS MONTH WILL BE SMALL GROUP LEADER TRAINING. There will be no regular LT meeting this week. This training is for all current small group leaders.  If you are interested in leading a small group in January or in the future, we invite you to attend this special training with Pastor Brian Rose from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM. Our monthly LT will resume in January.

SERVE DAY SATURDAY IS THIS WEEK!

Our Serve Day Saturday is this week, October 24th from 10AM -12PM. We will NOT be meeting at the church and then going to our projects. Just go ahead and meet at your project site. If you have not joined a group but would like to participate, please contact the team leaders directly about joining their project. The greatest need is with the Clothing Connection. They are in desperate need of help in preparing for the event on November 14th. We hope you will join a team and serve our community with your time and energy this week!

We are collecting all clothes, shoes, baby furniture and household linens for our 3rd Annual Clothing Connection.  (Sorry, no toys). We collect and sort donated goods and give them away to anyone and everyone.  FREE!  We all help each other! Please bring your donations on Sunday mornings and Mondays - Thursdays during normal business hours.

We need your help in two ways:
1)Donate your gently used baby, childrens, mens, women’s clothing, shoes as well as baby furniture and household linens.
2)Volunteer to help sort, move, organize, and pray for this event. Call or email Mark with any questions: 836-1101 Ext 200.

STUDENTS ARE COMING TO CHRIST!

This past Sunday we learned of two Promiseland students at the HHI Campus and six middle school students from the Bluffton Campus who prayed to receive Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. God is so good! Lives are changing!

REVOLU$ION GARAGE SALE- October 10 @ 8:00 am - Noon (Bluffton Campus)

Pull up the pick-up truck, there's a giant garage sale going on the church parking lot! Yes, to help us all in our journey to get out of debt and make a little extra cash, we're holding a churchwide garage sale. FPU class members are in free. Everyone else has to pitch in 5 bucks to help cover the cost of advertising. You must sign up with Andy Black to reserve a spot in the lot. Do it today and let the "gazelle intensity" begin!

THIS SUNDAY - October 11- "The Pursuit of Happiness"- Series concludes & a special offering

Join us this Sunday as we wrap up our messge series and discover what Paul says to us from the final chapter of Philippians on pursuing happiness. We will also be taking up a special offering for one of our global mission partners, the George Family, in light of the sudden loss of Prabha a few weeks ago.

BEACH BAPTISM - THIS SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 27
We will meet at Chaplin Park at 5 p.m. and the BBQ Krew will provide hotdogs, hamburgers, beans, chips, and a beverage for $5/person or $15/famly. There will also be very tasty BBQ (pulled pork sandwich meal) available for the first 250 people.  $5 per person or $15 max per family.  Join us for some great fellowship and a wonderful celebration of baptism. MOPPETS VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

MOPS is off to a great start this year, but we need your help.  We need volunteers to spend time with the children during MOPS. For every MOPPETS volunteer, approximately 3 moms are free to attend MOPS.  Your commitment would be just once a month (the second Tuesday of each month). MOPS is touching the lives of moms who need connection, encouragement, and spiritual renewal. If you can serve as a Moppets volunteer or would like more information, Contact Jen Denton.

 

Woodhaven After School Program - STARTS TOMORROW!

Starting TOMORROW, Wednesday, Sept 16th from 4 PM - 5:30 PM, we are helping kids with homework at Woodhaven Apartments in the Community Center. This will be EVERY WEDNESDAY.  We are looking for volunteers to serve once or twice a month. Contact Cynthia Cullen at 843-290-2309 click here.  See you there!
